Topic: Mid Years Resolutions
Ok, so my New years Resolutions are pretty much shot, so time to rethink things.
As the 4th of July is as close to the middle of the year holiday I can think of, its the best time to re-focus my efforts. So what are your Mid Year Resolutions?
I'll start it off with mine. It can be wrapped up in one package, with a few smaller elements.
To truly COMMIT to my BJJ game - nothing else will pay the dividends in all other aspects of my life as this simple commitment. To that end, I have to adopt the following principles:
1. Nothing hurts - I will keep my minor injuries to myself, and commit to a "Nothing hurts" mentality. I will train around my issues and make my weak points my strong suit - ala' Drac in a hand splint - STILL training and rolling.
2. 4 days a week in the gym with at least 1 open mat session - minimum - no excuses
3. drop 25# by September 18th (my 42nd Birthday)
4. Do at LEAST 1 tournament before my birthday and at least 2 by the end of the year.
5. talk less, listen more
6. Hold myself accountable - keep a journal of training sessions - that which does not get measured, does not get accomplished.
Anyone else?
