Topic: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

Guys,

I wanted to bring this website to the attention of everyone:

http://www.submit2no1.com

Also, http://www.submit2no1.com.

Sensei Jerry Jones has a Youtube video available that you should all check out which is here:

Now if you read the comment by "Lutblisset", he writes the following:

"Hi Jerry I'm a BJJ purple belt under Rogerio Olegario (Osvaldo Alves). What's your BJJ rank and instructor?

I ask this because your statement about wrong arm positioning is both rather bold and not entirely accurate. Getting the forearm on the neck setup different escapes, likewise wrapping it like an underhook.
Looking forward your reply."

Its gotten no response.  Welp fellas, it's been a while, but looks like i've got some investigating to do smile.

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

haven't watched the video yet, but just had a look at the website, and I couldn't find any claims of teaching BJJ, am I missing something?

although i did find in almost white-on-white down the bottom (obviously to help the google ranking)

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

ok, watched the clips now... looks like he is a JJJ black belt, dropping the "Japanese / Traditional" and calling it "Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu". His tips about arm positioning are garbage. He is neglecting a whole series of escapes by crapping on the "framing posture"

Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu

I'm not in the states, but is there any such thing?

If that’s his escape, then OK. That’s his opinion. But since he said Jiu Jitsu, this video certifies him as an authentic Bullshido.

Congrats .....

He can say Jiu-Jitsu, as long as he doesn't say Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

Your right. There are a lot of off springs of the old JIU JITSU other than BJJ, which might share the same ideas as “Sensei” Jerry.

I think the most dominant representatives of the Traditional Jiu Jitsu are BJJ and Kodokan. There is Kosen Judo in Japan. However, it was a weak clan due to the presence of the charismatic Judo.

Thank you,

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

I've been talking to him on his channel. I showed Drac his video and he laughed and basically said who the fuck is this guy, then looked at me and rolled his eyes when the guys said the forearm on the neck is incorrect. Then he basically agreed with everything I told the guy.

DraculinoTeamTx   wow..that would be the WORST thing you could do with me. I actually do every little trick that I can to get you to but your arm behind my head like that so that I can telephone it. (Isolating the arm)

Then it is HELLO TRIANGLE FROM SIDE MOUNT. If thats not there..since the arm is isolated, its a regular armbar from side mount, or a straight armbar for the arm you now gave me to control.

JerryJonesMMA  (uploader)   DraculinoTeamTx - I'll write back 2 1 of these replies. The only thing u will TELEPHONE tough guy is family to let em know u just woke from a coma in Cuba. I feel no need to tell u who I trained or who has trained me but I will say I by choice I do not hold rank in BJJ. It has absolutely helped my ability as a grappler and I have much respect for the sport.  One of u purple belts can call Renzo,Bill Scott,Dante Rivera, Mike Monica. Anyone of them can fill u in. Oh what BJJ rank does Fedor ?Hu

DraculinoTeamTx:"Tough guy" huh, lol what ever you say Mr. Sensitive. Are you telling me that by "placing my hand on my head and trapping your arm or Isolating it" you won't be vulnerable to attacks? I don't negate the possibility on this working on some people just that this happens to be the thing I look for to open up a series of my favorite attacks from side control.

...your statement that the other position is "wrong" because it leaves you vulnerable to attacks is contradictory to the fact that the position you show also leaves you vulnerable to attacks. And what does Cuba have to do with anything..is one of us supposed to live there...or are you challenging me to a fight in cuba?

JerryJonesMMA:u r surprised that I have not responded well 2 ur arrogant phone home criticism that can very easily b taken as threat to the integrity of the my technique. I have consistently produced champs n grappling & then shootfighting, then NHB and now MMA every year since1993. I haven't and will not b so rude 2 go 2 your channel and ridicule your techniques. Do u really think I am unaware of such techniques u speak of. I'm fine w/u disagreeing but not fine with u being so disagreeable.

I posted a response that included draculino's comments after I showed him the video, but he hasn't "approved it yet".

I didn't. This is mine and his conversation. I just simply showed drac and asked his input...he gave it to me and actually told me to tell him he needs to be on medicine lol.

I find it best to just ignore anyone that confuses letters with words.  I'm still amazed whenever I see anyone over the age of 13 write like that.

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

It’s strange. This guy was getting personal when Colby was being technical and logical.

my instructor would be shouting at me if i ever did a side control like those kids.

DraculinoTeamTx   @JerryJonesMMA
lol YOU said a technique was incorrect in YOUR video. Why shouldn't I respond to that? Its funny you mention renzo, I sat here with Draculino (who is best friends with Renzo and is a Legend in BJJ) and showed him this video about 10 minutes ago. He said the same thing as me. Its true that with your technique some people use this to take the weight off the hips, but it leaves you open to a ton of things

#JerryJonesMMA  I think it's better at this point to shut down/delete all comments. I'm not saying I'm wrong. One&1/2 yrs ago I received a severe head and neck injury and don't need this aggravation while still on the mend. While I am not allowed back 2 work yet I'll admit it's easier 2 get me 2 bite while before the injury my competence enabled me 2 let things roll of my chest easier. I hope to b back soon. Having said that anyone can take this as far as they would like or drop it. 1 day then will shut off

DraculinoTeamTx   @JerryJonesMMA
First off, I'm sorry to hear about the injury. I hope you recover soon so you can get back to your passion. I think you got defensive and missed the point isn't who's wrong or right. Every technique has a counter. Had you just shown this technique, or said "Some people do it this way, But I don't like it because of this..I prefer to do this" . I doubt people would have a problem. But you said what other people teach is incorrect

DraculinoTeamTx @JerryJonesMMA
Lol, Im a jerk? I said this position is what I look for because It opens up to my favorite attacks and you called me a "tough guy" and said you'd put me in a coma in cuba, whatever the hell that means. I wished you an early recovery and tried to reason with you..don't call me a jerk. You've been completely closed minded, defensive and quick to call names.

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

Sorry for responding so late to this thread (studying for my building inspection exam sad ), but i'm actually planning a trip to his academy smile.

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

Quick question:

The correct arm posistion from the bottom of sidemount is under the neck correct?

Also - I look forward to the trip to his training gym.

Finally - did anyone watch the end of the video? looks like he has some akido training (or is that JJJ?), either way that makes me even more suspicious of what he is selling.

Re: Case File: Sensei Jerry Jones

It looked a bit like Aikido, although some forms of Judo branch off into small joint throws (ie: kotegaishi). I got my BB in Tomiki-Ryu and a lot of his throws were very similar to ours. He could have been taught a modified Ueshiba Aikido.
