Re: Central Nervous Training

I found it very useful to get more strength.
In my understanding cns training is 1 to 3 reptitions,
or do you mean something else?

Re: Central Nervous Training

Hi Arlan

Could you provide a template of what lifts, repetitions and %1rm loading you used, what your starting weights were and what your ending weights were and also over how long a period it took to achieve those things please?

S&C is a great passion of mine, i'm a crossfit affiliate owner, kettlebell, olympic weightlifting and powerlifting coach so would be useful to see what it's produced.

Cheers Leon.

Re: Central Nervous Training

This kind of training, I believe was developed by Marv Marinovich. My former strength and conditioning coach was very heavy on this...I was kind of skeptical at first, due to the body movements, ball work, and instead of lifting heavy weights...I was doing repetions with 120lbs now. The more I did it, the more I realized how in tune my body was becoming. As it was told to me "You have to learn how to control your body."  Most of this stuff, I really can't explan! But there are videos available and I will post the links here. Dynamic Integration has done great things for me, check it out!

I had a very hard time adjusting to this type of training, but it's for the best. Good stuff all around! Give it a shot!

Re: Central Nervous Training

Hi forum, as far as my experience proprioceptive and cns training I've done the "poor man's" version when I workout (off the mat) meaning barefoot training as well as heavy lifts, odd object lifts, unilateral work, and simple body weight stuff like slow eccentric pistols and 1-arm push ups. Very basic and simple for now.

I know body weight training may not sound too cns intense, but let me paint a brief picture- I am over 200lbs, mid-30s, with only 5 yrs of self-taught experience in most of what I explained above. hahaha total amateur

Thank you very much for these, Arlan! I can see how this kinda stuff will carry over to performance on the mat. For me it's a case of being able to fit it in so I might look at working this into my schedule along with more ginastica natural.

Thanks again.
