Topic: Proper usage?
Is this correct I am mostly concerned with under and / debaixo if it is used in the proper context.
I am a black belt under Amilcar "Mica" Cipili
Eu sou um faixa preta debaixo de Amilcar "Mica" Cipili

Eu sou um faixa preta debaixo de Amilcar "Mica" Cipili
No, the "under" you're using in this case is a little form of under...which might not be your best bet when describing your relationship with another man.
When "ser" is conjugated to first person present, "sou," you don't really have you say "eu." It's not wrong, but you don't have to say it.
Sou um faixa preta do Amilcar "Micra" Cipili.
"De" means "of" so you are a black belt OF so-and-so, and a person's name always carries a definite article--o for men and a for women. But "de" + "o" is shortened to "do."
Thank you Hillary, your explanation helped me understand the process vs simply providing the correct verbiage.
Hello, Hillary i think is more correct to say or to use "de" term.
The "do" suggests the belt belongs to Amilcar Cipilli, and doesn't belong to the Don.
The word "faixa" it's a feminime feminine word, and "um" is masculine, in Brasil and Angola they make this mistake.
uma mulher - one women
um homem - one men
Sou faixa preta de Amilcar "Mica" Cipili
ou
Sou faixa preta pelo Amilcar "Mica" Cipili
